Lauri Ann Baughn

Lauri Baughn passed away peacefully in Mount Vernon, Washington, on August 24, 2016, while under the care of her loving family.

Lauri was born in Woodland, California, to her parents, Charles Grant Baughn and Dorothy Ann Baughn. She was the oldest of Grant and Ann’s four children.

Lauri attended Nordhoff High School in Ojai, and then went on to graduate from California Polytechnic State University in San Luis Obispo. When she was 40 years of age she returned to school to become a registered nurse. She retired from her nursing career in 2012 after providing hospice care for eight years with Hinds Hospice.

Lauri’s passions were music, horses, and family. She played in two symphony orchestras, as second violin, one with Cal-Poly San Luis Obispo, and later at the University of Auburn.

Lauri was also an accomplished equestrian cross county rider and showed in dressage.

Lauri is survived by her son, Glenn Barber, and his wife, Monica; granddaughter Elisa; her siblings, Sharon Baughn, Susan Sharp (Carroll), Steven Baughn (Delinda); and numerous nieces and nephews. At Lauri’s request no services will be held. Memorial donations may be made in her name to your local hospice.
