Former California resident Sherri Evans Lewis, 62, died November 11, 2011, in Oak View, Ca.
A service will be held on Nov. 27 at 12 p.m. at 590 Via Arroyo, Ventura Ca. Sherri was born July 26, 1947, in Roseburg, Oregon to Tyler and Mona Evans.
A graduate from Nordhoff High School, Ms. Lewis served as a Deputy Sherriff in Ventura County. Sherri moved to Arizona later in her life where she enjoyed exploring Native American ruins and looking for artifacts. Sherri loved caring for her dogs and was fascinated by cultures and new ideas.
She is survived by her step-father, Jack Brown; sister, Melody Thurman; brother, Mark Evans; in-laws, Linda Evans and Gene Thurman; nephews, Michael and Matthew Leonard and Mark Alan Evans; and niece, Ashley Evans. She was preceded in death by her father, Tyler Evans; mother, Mona Brown; and brother, Steve Evans.
